Desktop photo's


  Here you will find a collection of my favorite desktop photo's. Kim and I have lived in, and visited, some rather interesting places, and we've been taking pictures wherever we go. Here are some of the pictures I've taken over the years. The better ones. Perhaps they'll look as good on your desktop as they do on mine. Enjoy!

I hope you'll enjoy the desktop photo's. Most of the photo's were taken using my Fuji FinePix 2400Zoom digital camera (2.1 Mega Pixel/3x Zoom). The ones that weren't, were scanned using my UMAX Astra 1220U flatbed scanner. I created most of the photo pages using Apples free software - iPhoto, and an iPhoto plugin - BetterHTMLexport. It was a snap, honestly! :-) Some photo editing was done using GraphicConverter, and PixelNHance. Web page tweaking was performed using BBEdit. Aside from being great desktop photos, I've created a slideshow out of these photos. If you've got a Mac, and you'd like to subscribe to my slideshow, just follow these instructions:
  1. Make sure you have Mac OS X version 10.2 or later installed, and you're connected to the Internet.
  2. Open System Preferences and click Desktop & Screen Saver (Screen Effects under 10.2).
  3. Select .Mac in the list of available screen savers.
  4. Click the Configure button and enter "rvaessen" in the Member Name box. Then click OK.
Now sit back and enjoy. My slideshow will appear the next time your screen saver is activated. When you are connected to the Internet, you'll automatically receive any updates I've made to the slideshow.
